Beaufort's Silver Jubilee: Toasting 25 Years of the Beaufort Collection
Among the coterie of McKinnon and Harris collections that have stood the test of time, Beaufort is one of our clients' favorites. (An early tagline called the collection “Living Room Furniture for the Garden,” which still holds up today.) Named after our co-founders Will and Anne Massie’s childhood Gordon Setter, who always had a nose for a comfortable perch, Beaufort is elegant and regal, with a throne-like seat ideal for whiling away an afternoon.
Over the years, our Product Development team honed Beaufort’s construction, making innovative changes inspired by client feedback. “We listen to client feedback, and we sit on the furniture every day in our own breakroom and showrooms,” says Ken Dail, President of McKinnon and Harris. “If we see or hear of something we can do better, we go improve it. We're very proud of the design, and driven to always find a way to build it better, to make it more durable, and to improve the consistency of every little design detail in the collection.” "Case in point," Ken says: “In the last 5 years, we've tweaked the details 13 times.”
Those tweaks and tailorings have created a collection that puts the beauty in Beaufort, complete with options such as the Beaufort Club Chair with Turkish Back, Sun Chaise, Tall Chair and Settee—as fanciful a handcrafted, powder-coated aluminum settee as you’ll ever see—and more, all available in 25 High Performance Finish Color hues. Silver jubilee, indeed.
